  1. What are the DACE Age Ratings?
    1. All Ages: Generally acceptable for children.  Contains no nudity, but may contain mild violence.
      1. Examples: Pokemon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hikaru no Go, etc…
 
    1. 13+: May contain violence, brief nudity and or mild language.  They may also contain suggested sexual situations, but none are shown.
      1. Examples: Inuyasha, IGPX, Naruto, Bleach, etc…
 
    1. 16+: Contains strong violence and strong language.  It may also contain prevalent nudity and mild sexual situations may be shown.
      1. Examples: Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf’s Reign, Sayuki, etc…
 
    1. 18+: Extreme violence, explicit nudity and or extreme language may be present.  Non one under the age of 18 will be allowed to attend these viewings, regardless of parental consent.
      1. Examples: Berserk, Elphen Lied, Gantz etc…
 
  1. What is the DACE “Bump” Policy?
    1. To Standardize our Age Ratings, if an anime has a rating system different than DACE’s, we “bump” the age rating up to the closest age recommendation in our age rating system.
      1. Example: An anime title has an age rating of 12 or older would be “bumped” up reflect a recommended age of 13 or older by our rating system.
 
  1. What is the difference between Broadcast & Uncut Anime / Asian Cinema?
    1. When anime or asian cinema is broadcasted in the USA it is typically edited for content acceptable by foreign, but not US standards.  However, when the DVD is released for sale, it is common practice to release the “unedited” version containing the original content.  As such, what you may approve for your child to watch on TV may differ greatly from the DVD variants we use at DACE Meetings.
 
  1. Can I Leaving My Child at a DACE Meeting?
    1. Yes, but you must first fill out and turn in a DACE Parental Consent form and complete an interview with one of the hosting officers to ensure your child’s safety and any special rules you may have will be met, as well as to confirm pick up and emergency contact information.
 
  1. Where can I find Meeting Information?
    1. We advertise our meetings in various location and publications, but the best source of dates, age ratings, cancelations and locations is the DACE Home page (www.DelawareAnimeFans.com)
 
  1. Why is it important for me to check the DACE Home Page?
    1. Sometimes our dates, events or locations might change, but the printed ad may have already gone to press or have been distributed.  For this reason, we always encourage parents to confirm information on the DACE Home Page prior to a meeting.
